About Link House Farm
On one of the most spectacular stretches of Northumberland Heritage coast these six individually designed cottages enjoy an idyllic location on a working farm only yards from Beadnell Bay's wonderful long sandy beach backed by National Trust sand dunes. Perfect for walkers bird watchers and families (all children under 12 receive a free bucket and spade!) each cottage has its own unique character and all of them offer spacious well appointed interiors and their own garden as well as shared enjoyment of a well equipped children's play area. And the farm which sits at the end of a lane half a mile from the village of Newton-by-the-Sea boasts a collection of peacocks and ornamental pheasants.
Wonderful coastal walking starts at the door north to the fishing village of Beadnell and south to Low Newton's glorious sandy beach and stunning views of Dunstanburgh Castle and through to Craster a pretty harbour village famous for its much sought after kippers. Nature lovers will delight in the area's variety of native and migrating birds and grey seals and sea otters are often spotted along the coast.
There are numerous places to visit along the coastline including magnificent Bamburgh Castle Holy Island and Seahouses (6 miles) for boat trips to the Farne Islands to see the famous colonies of puffins and seals. Just 7 miles inland lie the market town of Alnwick and its fairytale castle; the internationally celebrated gardens offer something for everyone such as stunning water features a giant tree house with its own restaurant and fabulous ornamental planting. The Northumberland National Park's thousands of acres of unspoilt heather moorlands ancient woodland and rolling Cheviot hills are easily accessible as are Berwick upon Tweed and the Scottish Borders. Golf horse riding sailing and fishing are all available nearby. Village pub serving food ½ mile shop and post office 2½ miles.

'I most certainly would. Firstly the holiday cottage had a brilliant situation very near a beautiful, secluded, sandy beach. Secondly, there was a well-equipped play area and there were toys and games in the cottage. Our little grandson had a lot of fun and we all had a wonderful holiday. Our hosts were MORE than helpful'

'A very clean, spacious and comfortable property which is very well maintained to a high standard all round. Excellent facilities, especially in the kitchen/dining area. We recommend it for quiet beach and walking holidays or as a great place just to kick back and relax. '

'4th time we have been to Link House Farm. We have stayed in a different house this time which we have enjoyed. If you want an easily accessible beach holiday, this is the place to come, it takes less than 5 mins to walk to the beach even with toddlers. Shallow shoreline, rock pools at one end of the beach, smooth sandy beaches to play sports on, we watched surfers and some Link House Farm guests with a blow up canoe type boat paddling out and trying to surf back in, very entertaining. Sometimes rough, sometimes beautifully calm. You take your chance with conditions on North East Coast ! I think we will be back again.'

'This cottage is in a splendid location five minutes (not two minutes!) walk from beautiful golden sands and dunes with views to the Farne Islands and Dunstanburgh. The coastal path runs right along the edge. The children's play area is lovely and safe. The kitchen is pleasant and well-furnished. The peacocks roaming the grounds are an added treat!'

'The cottage was set in a lovely quiet location, and only a stones throw to the most fabulous beach that we had to ourselves. The children particularly enjoyed feeding the peacocks through the stable door. Alnwick castle was only a short drive away, and was an excellent family day out.'

'Link House Farm, Low Newton, is a superb family holiday destination. Literally yards away from a secluded, stunning Northumbrian beach and a short, idyllic coastal walk to the village of Low Newton our family enjoyed a thoroughly memorable week here.
Low Newton itself is a picture postcard location with its village green and character-packed pub, The Ship Inn, fronting onto a beautiful beach which stretches all the way to Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance. We paticularly enjoyed eating lobster at The Ship Inn, which had been caught in Newton bay earler that day, and sampling the real ales which are brewed in its own microbrewey literally next door. We can't recommend enough both the location and the quality of accommodation we found in Northumberland. Top marks.'

'I would highly recommend this cottage to families with children. The location is excellent for easy walking access to the beach. The play area is fabulous and as the site itself is contained the children are able to access the play area on their own within sight of the cottage - a huge bonus! We had a really great week and the weather was great too!'
